Many communities across the country — particularly in rural areas — lack broadband access or are limited to a single Internet provider. States are pursuing a variety of initiatives to bridge this digital divide and expand broadband availability.
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration partners with states and collects broadband data. The map below displays NTIA’s most recent data, current as of June 30, 2011.
