Defendant was convicted in the trial court of obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Defendant appealed.
The Court of Appeals held that:
- An off-duty police officer outside the boundaries of his own jurisdiction lacks authority to arrest outside of the territorial limits of his jurisdiction, and
- Off-duty police officer working private security outside the boundaries of his own jurisdiction was not discharging his official duties when he tried to arrest defendant.
