City of Tacoma, in which we learned that a combination of two factors are likely to result in getting shot in the back: 1) “mental illness;” and b) “limited English proficiency.” As those are the defining features of the BCB workforce, we’ll be steering clear of Tacoma for now. The court’s opinion did include this gem, “As Officer Volk approached Beltran-Serrano, he laid down on his stomach and started digging in a hole. Officer Volk greeted Beltran-Serrano, but he looked up at her blankly and kept digging in the hole.” Eerily similar to the average BCB workplace communication.
