While scrolling through the standard-issue list of keynotes, round tables, and task forces, we encountered the following bullet point: “Fireside Chat with Jefferson County, Alabama.” Ok. We have questions. And concerns. With a county-wide population of 662,895, are we absolutely sure about the “chat” format? Allocating approximately 3 minutes per comment, will the 331,000 hour comment period include bathroom breaks? Will there be valet parking? And then there’s the “fireside” part of the proceedings. We’ll have to get back to you on that one.
