- And Finally, The Nuclear Apocalypse Destroyed All Life on Earth; Plus It Left a Sticky Film on Our Kitchen Counters is brought to us this week by Penncrest School District v. Cagle, in which a visitor to a local public school posted photos on Facebook and opined as follows: “This is on display at Maplewood High School. Besides the point of being totally evil, this is not what we need to be teaching kids.” We’re a bit vague as to the subject matter of this objectionable display. Pineapple on pizza? The issue here is that once you’ve deployed “totally evil,” there’s really no point in following up with your particularized objections. Anti-climax and all that. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? (Yes, we’re aware that we deploy this little joke on a regular basis. We care not, as is never gets old. Did we ever see actual reviews of Our American Cousin, or had more pressing concerns suddenly arisen? Can’t recall.)
