- And Finally, Heavy Metal Sculpture Garden!! is brought to us this week by Fitzmaurice v. City of Quincy, in which the City of Quincy secretly spent $850k of taxpayer funds commissioning two ten-foot-tall bronze statues from a sculptor in Italy to be installed on the facade of the city’s new public safety building. Both statues represent Catholic saints. Taxpayers sued based upon Establishment Clause blah, blah, yadda, yadda. We were inclined to side with these apostates until we learned more about the statues in question. Per the court, “One statue depicts Saint Michael, an archangel with wings, stepping on the head and neck of a demon. The other depicts Saint Florian, a larger-than-life Roman soldier towering above a burning building and extinguishing the fire with water from a single vessel.” Hells, Yeah!! That’s as Bitchin’ Camaro as it gets. We need these on EVERY BUILDING WE GOT. Every House of Worship. Every House of Ill-Repute. Every International House of Pancakes. NOW!!
